Countdown to skiing
With a month left before our little ski holiday, everyone is getting excited.
Huw and Bradley have put in some big sessions at the dry slope and I am confident they will be able to make the most of their time on the mountain.
Becky has some new skis arriving which will be great, it has taken her a long time to decide what she wants so it will be nice to get them sorted and I think she is going to really enjoy them.
We also bought her a new tv at the weekend, it's pretty nice!
I actually get jealous pretty easy, so with her getting a new tv and new skis, I might have to do some shopping myself.
This Sunday a bunch of us are heading up to air hop in Guildford, which is a trampoline park. It should be super fun as there is a foam pit and loads of bouncy things!

Setting goals.
Every time you set yourself targets you have to make sure they are realistic.
With that in mind I want to see if by the summer I can learn to do a proper handstand... And balance for 30 seconds.
I also want to learn half twist summersaults on the trampoline.
Bex played really well last weekend considering it was her first time playing tournament style paintball. I was impressed with how she learnt to be aggressive and make some decent moves up the field.
Hopefully we will get to play a lot more this year.
I have got a bit lazy with my skiing... I am still going out twice a week but I am not pushing myself... I think I am a bit nervous of hunting myself before the holiday. But my one footed snowboarding is getting stronger and also my 360 on the skis is getting more comfortable.
That's it for this week. Back on the trampoline tomorrow and skiing Sunday night so lots to do.
I think Bex is looking to get a new TV at the weekend so might watch a film Saturday night... And bit of a rest will be amazing.
Peace

Backflips
So today I finally learnt backflips unassisted on the trampoline... It's the first time I have ever tried them out of the harness and they really are easier to learn than the front somersault!
My park boots arrived last Sunday and are so much more forgiving than my normal alpine ski boot. Making attempting stuff on the skis so much less hassle.
Tomorrow it will be Becky's first time playing tournament style paintball... I am so excited for her to give it a go and also to get back into playing a bit myself!
I need to learn a couple more tricks before going away on the ski trip so that I can be confident to try some fun stuff!
Peace out for now.

Trampoline times
Over the past two years I took up trampolining... And it has taken me a long time to progress to this stage... Where I am actually comfortable attempting tricks which involve being upside down.
Working towards doubles: http://youtu.be/Xo6_HDERXSI
This is all to get my self into a comfort zone to do it on the skis. I don't know if I will ever really have the bottle to try but I want to one day.
What is really crazy about trampolining is how some of the more basic movements can completely throw people.
As me and Pete have been getting more confident there are often kids or even adults who will listen and learn from what you say. I never thought I would get to a stage in this sport where I actually know enough to help give advice and advance peoples own abilities.
I finally gathered the courage to start trying rotations on my snowboard at the dryslope. It hasnt been as productive as I had hoped... But at least I feel fairly confident I can ride out of any trouble.
In other news.. I have ordered some new park ski boots (2013/14 tom wallisch full tilts). Which I am so stoked to have arrive. As I will be able to do a full tilt bootfit as well which never happens.
Next week we are taking Becky for her first taste of tournament paintball. I think she will really enjoy it.. But might come back a little bruised as it is quite a lot more about being shot than when you play in the woods.
Well I guess that was this week's update... Work has been ridiculously busy, I guess me making a few fairly big mistakes last month have taken their toll. At least it is the weekend now and although I am working both days at snowtrax, it is more of a hobby than a job.

Post season ski planning
So I'm all about that ski and snowboard life right now... And super excited to be taking a few close friends out on a ski holiday soon.
I want to start writing a bit again just to try and push myself to achieve a few small things this year... So here we go.
The boys coming on the ski trip are getting some practice in before we go... This was week one... Let's see how far I can get them by the 7th of march!
Huw ski week 1: http://youtu.be/o3BIGpCU5hA
Brad ski week 1: http://youtu.be/xZvDN1KXKn0
For guys who haven't skiid much they are looking pretty strong.
I want to get some video of me together so that I can see what to make better.
What else is going on?? Well I am working for a marketing data company who sell both consumer and business marketing data.. It's not the grandest thing in the world but I'm on my first step on that real world ladder.
I also work part time at the local ski shop which gives me access to the dry slope... Two winters of ski season work has made it pretty hard to let that hobby go and the shop work makes me happy as I get to chat to people about things that I am really into (and I'm starting to get a pretty good knowledge on too).
Trampolining is becoming a pretty big hobby too so maybe I will take some pictures of that.
For now this is me signing off. I will hope to get some progress videos of Brad and Huw as they ski more.

What to do when the sun comes out?
So yea, today was pretty decent weather wise which meant I could get some decent time doing something outdoors without complaining of the cold.
It was also the first time I had put anything other than people and paintball kit in my car. This for some reason really exited me.
Its been a month since the last update, so what has been going on?
Paintball has started, and the team came away from the first event with a podium place (I don't remember if it was 2nd or 3rd), which is good, but still showed us that there is plenty to keep polishing.
As the teams first attempt at the x-ball style format the day seemed to go fairly well, although there was a level of stress from the new format and I think the changes in the team that started to affect everyone, even so, I have seen x-ball teams shouting at each other even when they win the points so i'm not concerned.
roller-disco!
We went to one last week which was pretty fun. between that and ice skating I seem to be spending a fair amount of time in skates which is pretty cool right?!
I'm trying to get into doing sports rather than just doing exercise, but its easier to just go do exercise so we shall see how that goes.
Cinema;
Went to see chronicle, which was awesome. if you like the whole mind control / xmen / heroes / superpowers thing then you should go check it out.
Also we saw Jack and Jill, the Adam Sandler movie. Fricking hilarious.
That's pretty much it for now, there is other stuff going on, but i'm not going to blog about it.
PEACE
